Wanted: Youth Engagement Coordinator

Description of Duties and Responsibilities: The Youth Engagement Coordinator works with the Prevention Director and QHSUA staff team to ensure that the goals and objectives of the Alliance’s substance use prevention programs are fulfilled. The Youth Engagement Coordinator will collaborate with community partners to identify and engage with individuals and organizations serving youth and young adults. They will support youth/young adults in activities that help prevent and reduce underage drinking, nicotine, and marijuana use. A primary goal is to work with young persons to create active youth-driven and youth-led community participation and health advocacy. Works as part of a larger prevention/health promotion team to improve youth/young adult wellness, physical and mental health.

Qualifications and Experience for the Position: B.A. or B.S in public health or related field preferred. Prior experience in youth health-related programming and training, professional development, meeting logistics, data collection and health-related planning.

Salary and Hours: 28 hours per week, salary of $24/hour. Benefited, nonunion position; flexible schedule; some evening/weekend meetings and events.
