The city of Cambridge, Massachusetts, is seeing a Working Supervisor Sewer Cleaner MEOIIA with one year driving experience, a valid CDL Class B and hoisting engineer 4E license. The Working Supervisor must be a highly motivated individual who is able to provide direction and technical guidance of work crews (normally from three to 10) composed of skilled craftworkers, motor equipment operators and laborers in the cleaning, rodding, repair and general maintenance of the city’s storm and sanitary system. Must effectively communicate and assist with scheduling of job tasks while skilled in the trade being supervised. In all cases must perform the same type of work as individuals being supervised. Must be a liaison between management and workers in the field. Must be able to utilize work order system and manage pump station maintenance. Directs work crews in responding quickly to complaints/emergencies and determines responsibilities between the city and the homeowner in relation to compliance with instructions and conformance with accepted trade practices. Enforces sewer regulations, maintain discipline, orders supplies and equipment, and reviews work of crew assigned. $30.78-$37.64/hour with excellent benefits.
