The Acton Water District is seeking an organized, energetic, self-motivated individual with strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills to be part of our team. Under the general supervision of the Foreman, the Operator will assist in the operation of two membrane filtration plants treating groundwater under the direct influence of surface water (GWUDI), a greensand filtration plant treating water from both gravel-packed and bedrock wells, multiple pumping stations, and the distribution/storage system. Granular activated carbon treatment is currently at, or being installed at, all four treatment facilities. The position requires a minimum of D2 and T2 water operator licenses, with preference given to candidates with a T3 water treatment operator license and 2A hoisting license. While the emphasis is on treatment, this position is expected to perform distribution-related duties on a routine and ongoing basis as well. This is a full-time position, requiring some overtime and emergency response, with the expectation to go on scheduled rotating call after a probationary period. Excellent benefits and hourly rate (starting at $37 for candidates with a T3 license) will be dependent on qualifications. Applications received by Nov. 3 will be given priority consideration.
