The town of Avon seeks an energetic DPW Water Systems Technician. Responsible for assisting in the operation, repair and maintenance of the water treatment and distribution system, and other public works duties as assigned. Applicants should have water operation experience and must be capable of light to moderate facility maintenance tasks as required. High school diploma or GED equivalent; drinking water training/certificate preferred.
Candidates must have or be able to obtain within the six-month probationary period: 1T and 1D OIT Water Operator’s license. Within one year candidates must obtain a Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement or better; and hoisting license with 1C/2A endorsements or better.
Class PW-2 with ten step scale ranging from $27.89 to $33.34 per hour. The starting pay range is from $27.89 to $29.03 DOQ plus excellent benefits. The work week is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Candidates must have ability to work overtime as necessary.
