Town of Falmouth Water Utilities Division has a full-time, immediate opening for a qualified Water Operator 1. Requires skilled technical and manual work in the operation and maintenance of municipal water treatment, supply, transmission, and storage facilities. Performs standard operation, maintenance, inspection, and cleaning activities such as maintaining mechanical equipment and instruments, performing regular inspections of plant and wells, cleaning tanks and piping, investigating, and repairing leaks, collecting samples, and performing basic analytical tests. Prepares operational and regulatory reports as required. Monitors system operation through computerized SCADA system and reviews data. Troubleshoots or repairs equipment as necessary. Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of water supply, treatment, and distribution system operation. At least two years’ experience in utility operations, some of which is in water treatment plant operations. Position is subject to callback; serves on standby or works weekends/holidays, as required. Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s license with Air Brake and Tanker Endorsement; possession of valid Mass. Board of Certification of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators certification, T-2 minimum. Wage: $26.16 – $33.41/hr.; Full benefits apply.
