The town of Weymouth has a challenging opportunity for a Water Facilities Engineer. The selected individual will have the following skills: Highly responsible technical, administrative and supervisory work in directing the operation and maintenance of municipal water treatment facilities and the water distribution system. Operates laboratory equipment, electrical meter, electronic calibration equipment, signal generating equipment, and all other equipment related to the work of a water treatment plant operator; operates typical office equipment, such as computer, telephone, copier, etc. Takes daily readings of meters and gauges; maintains charts and records, checking for any repairs needed; observes operation of pumps and other equipment and makes necessary adjustments; prepares statistical reports required for process optimization of chemical and utility costs. Reviews plant performance and chemical usage; ensures that laboratory results are properly used in achieving optimum plant operations.

In order to be considered, candidates should possess a Bachelor of Science degree in physics, chemistry or engineering or related environmental science; five years’ experience as a filter operator in a Class I facility; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The salary range for this position is $73,764.10 to $90,913.17 based on education and experience.
