Performs responsible technical and supervisory work in the daily operations of the town’s wastewater treatment facilities. Position requires examining, analyzing and evaluating the wastewater treatment system, wastewater characteristics, effluent water quality, and other relevant regulatory requirements. Working under the policy direction of the Wastewater Commissioners, the Facilities Manager formulates long-range planning and objectives, and is directly accountable for the direction and success of Facility programs, in conjunction with management of capital and annual budgets.

Oversees all operations of the pump stations, collection systems, well installations, permit applications, facility and equipment maintenance. Position acts as Chief Operator requiring expertise of the mechanical and electrical systems used in plant operations. Employee supervises three full-time and part-time weekend staff.

Minimum qualifications: Five to seven years’ experience in a wastewater treatment facility with at least three years in a supervisory capacity. Valid MA Driver’s license, MA Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator’s License, Grade VI, or higher.
