The town of Leicester is seeking a full-time Treasurer/Collector. Position is responsible for all statutory position duties including, but not limited to, collection of taxes and all other local revenue, treasury management and disbursement of funds, management and oversight of Town debt, reconcilement of all Town funds, receivables, trust funds and grants. Additional responsibilities include administration of payroll, leave management, and employee benefits. Supervises two staff members.

Qualifications: bachelor’s degree in business administration or finance and/or relevant experience in a municipal financial setting; knowledge of VADAR and Harpers payroll systems; possess or be able to obtain initial certification as a Massachusetts Collector or Treasurer within three years of appointment. Must pass a CORI check and be bondable.

Requires knowledge of cash management, account reconciliation, organization, self-direction, general accounting practices and principles. Must keep accurate records and reports.  The successful applicant will have excellent planning, time management, and supervisory skills.

Full salary range: $64,502 to $102,151. Hiring range up to $90,992, depending on applicant’s qualifications. The town also offers competitive benefits, including a Monday – Thursday four-day work week.
