The town of Fairhaven is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Treasurer/Collector. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, salaried, non-union position classified as Grade 20 on the town’s Wage and Classification Plan, with a salary range of $96,000–$116,000, commensurate with experience and education.
The Treasurer/Collector is responsible for the administration and oversight of all municipal financial collections and disbursements, cash flow management, debt issuance, payroll, and investment of town funds in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws. The position works closely with the Town Administrator, Select Board, Finance Committee, and other departments to ensure sound fiscal management and transparency.
Candidates must have a minimum of five years of relevant municipal finance experience or equivalent educational background. Massachusetts Treasurer/Collector certification is preferred and must be obtained within a reasonable timeframe if not already held.
