The town of Boylston has an immediate need for an innovative and visionary Planner to carry out the many complex planning tasks, including providing professional and technical review for zoning matters, subdivision control law, and comprehensive planning items, and to be responsive to the development of our Master Plan, Housing Production Plan, and Open Space Plan.
An ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual who applies innovative and contemporary planning practices in community development, possesses excellent leadership and communications skills, has a thorough understanding of land use principles with historic preservation and environmental issues a plus, will demonstrate strong project management skills, and be able to perform at a high level in a team-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning, public administration, or a related field (master’s preferred); five-plus years of progressively responsible municipal planning experience; strong communication skills; and a thorough understanding of zoning and land use principles.
