The Town Accountant is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Town Accountant. This is a 40 hour/week position with benefits.

Responsibilities include processing bill warrants and payroll warrants for the town, entering revenues and reconciling with both the Collector’s and Treasurer’s offices, entering and reconciling commitments and abatements from the Assessors’ office. Track leave time for all personnel on an Access database and reconcile with employees, department heads, and the Treasurer’s office.

Applicants must be detail oriented, good with numbers, discrete, accurate, proficient in Excel and data processing, and have good communication skills. An associate’s degree or three to five years of office experience is required, preferably in a municipality. A knowledge of Softright Financial Software; the Mass. General Laws applying to municipal accounting; and the UMAS Manual would be helpful.
