The town of Lisbon, Maine has reopened the search for a Town Manager. Lisbon is a rapidly growing community located close to urban and recreational opportunities. Lisbon has a population of about 9,711 and is ideally positioned to be a great place to live, work, or grow a business.

Lisbon has a Town Manager and Town Council form of government with a charter. Lisbon is a full-service community and has a current municipal budget of $10.6 million excluding schools with 75 full-time employees and 45 part-time and seasonal employees.

The Council is seeking an individual with strong budget and financial management skills, experience with tax issues and TIFs, experience with roads and infrastructure issues, comfort with technology and Human Resources and Labor Relations experience. Experience in planning, economic development issues, housing and smart growth management issues is important.

Candidates should possess excellent public relation and communication skills, a positive attitude, and demonstrated leadership ability. The ability to engage and energize volunteers and the community will be a key priority in this role. A transparent, collaborative and team-oriented management style will also be a priority. A bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or similar relevant field is preferred, and experience in town management, executive municipal management and finance or comparable experience is a plus.
