The town of Plymouth seeks qualified applicants for the position of Town Engineer.

Supervisory, management and professional engineering work relating to the design, construction, and maintenance of all town engineering and surveying projects; all other related work, as required. Provides technical support to all divisions of the Department of Public Works and other town agencies, as needed; conducts reviews and submits reports on infrastructure proposals to other town agencies; reviews proposals for impact on the community, including construction requirements, transportation, public safety and municipal service delivery. Attends various town board meetings and public hearings conducted on construction projects, easement acquisitions and other capital projects. Represents town on various committees and at public hearings or court proceedings. Manages overall design and administration of all municipal engineering‑related capital infrastructure projects. Responsible for the preparation of plans and working drawings, and assists in overseeing construction, inspection and quality assurance of engineering elements of town projects. Directs the preparation of documents for competitive bidding; oversees bid evaluations; makes recommendation for contract award. Supervises the maintenance of various town maps, including zoning, street, atlas, town properties, easement, and record drawings.

Bachelor of science degree in civil engineering required; five years of full‑time civil engineering design and supervision experience on a variety of engineering projects, especially those involving public works construction; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special requirements include registration as a professional engineer in Massachusetts and a Massachusetts Class D driver’s license required.
