Monson, MA (8,800 pop.), is a culturally rich, rural town nestled in the central southern part of Massachusetts, on the Connecticut state line. It seeks an approachable and collaborative Town Administrator to provide the leadership necessary for the town to achieve its goals and maintain its practice of strong customer service. It is seeking an experienced and engaging leader with solid financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and grant writing and grant administration experience. Monson’s local government is led by a three-member Board of Selectmen, has an open Town Meeting form of government, an AA rating, and a FY21 budget of approximately $25.8 mil. The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), preferably in public administration or related field. Five years of experience as a municipal administrator or related field is preferred. Community engagement is an essential part of this position. The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package, including health and retirement plans, and an annual salary of $115K+/- DOQ. Monson is an EOE.
