The town of Sterling (population: 7,800; budget: $24 million) is seeking a talented, energetic, and strategic leader to serve as Town Administrator and chief administrative officer of the town.

The Town Administrator plays a crucial role in the town’s overall planning, management, organization, stability, and growth. The successful candidate is an experienced municipal management professional with effective leadership, human resources, and civic engagement skills. A strategic and innovative thinker with a collaborative work style who can gain trust and cooperation, lead through influence, team oriented, and able to build strong relationships with appointed/elected officials, citizens, and town employees.

Candidates will also have a strong financial acumen, with proficiency in budgeting and capital planning, as well as project management, economic/community development, and technology skills.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred, in a field related to public or business administration. A minimum of five years of experience as a town administrator, assistant town manager, or head of a major municipal department

The Town Administrator will receive an attractive compensation package including health and retirement plans and an annual salary of $120K+/-, commensurate upon qualifications and experience.
