Hudson, NH (25,000) seeks creative, seasoned leader with demonstrated organizational, administrative and management skills to serve as its next Town Administrator. A full-time position that requires a visionary leader to build upon the existing foundation of providing quality community facilities and services. Situated in close proximity to Nashua (Rt 3) and Manchester (Rt 93), Hudson is located in southeastern Hillsborough County along the southern edge of NH with its southern boundary forming the Massachusetts state line.
Hudson provides quiet open spaces and an abundance of recreational opportunities but also boasts superior infrastructure and has developed into an industrial and commercial center thanks in part to its proximity to critical highways. Manchester-Boston Regional Airport and Logan Airport Boston are both located within 50 miles. Hudson offers sustainable and stable growth while having one of the lowest tax rates in southern New Hampshire. Within a one-hour drive from Hudson, you can reach the New Hampshire seacoast and the city of Boston. The White Mountains in northern New Hampshire can be reached within two hours.
The town has an annual operating budget of approximately $35.5M. There are 190 full-time and 33 part-time employees. The Town Administrator has 20 direct reports and reports to a five-member Select Board. A bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred, in a related field and a minimum of seven years municipal management experience with supervisory responsibilities is desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities may also be considered. A strong sense of community engagement with multiple stakeholders along with the ability to handle complex budget development and support a team focused management approach are a must for any candidate.
