The town of Lynnfield, population 12,000 is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Town Accountant/Finance Director.

This position works under the general administrative and policy direction of the town Administrator and is appointed by the Select Board. This position is responsible for coordination of all financial activities of the town, development of financial policies and practices, maintenance of municipal accounting systems, financial forecasting and reporting. Responsible for budget development, including drafting the annual operating and capital budgets.

The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with effective written and verbal communication skills. Thorough knowledge of MA finance law. Successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or closely related field plus seven years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience with at least five years in the municipal field. Proficiency in MUNIS software strongly preferred. Designation as a Certified Governmental Accountant strongly preferred.
