Town Accountant – Town of Norton
Salary: $90,000–$120,000 DOQ
The town of Norton is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking municipal finance professional to serve as its next Town Accountant. This is more than a traditional accounting position—it is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of municipal government in a growing and evolving community.
Working directly with the Town Manager and municipal leadership team, the successful candidate will play a key role in modernizing financial operations, strengthening internal controls, improving transparency, and helping implement a long-term vision for professional, data-driven local government. The Town Accountant serves as the chief accounting officer for the municipality and is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, financial reporting, audit coordination, warrant processing, budget monitoring, DOR reporting, and compliance with Massachusetts municipal finance laws and regulations.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred. Municipal accounting experience strongly preferred. Experience as an Assistant Town Accountant, Assistant Auditor, Municipal Finance Director, or similar municipal finance role is highly desirable. MCGA and/or CPA certification preferred.
