The town of Andover seeks an experienced, collaborative financial leader to oversee all municipal accounting functions and ensure fiscal integrity across town and school departments. Reporting to the Deputy Town Manager for Administration and Finance, the Town Accountant plays a vital role in maintaining the town’s financial health through accurate reporting, compliance with state and federal regulations, and implementation of best practices in municipal finance.

This position offers the opportunity to lead a skilled accounting team, manage complex financial operations, and advise senior leadership on long-term fiscal strategy, collective bargaining impacts, and internal controls. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of Massachusetts General Laws, GAAP, and UMAS, as well as a commitment to transparency, innovation, and public service.

Bachelor’s degree required; CPA, MBA, or MPA preferred.

$125,000-$150,000+ based on experience and qualifications.
