The town of Leicester seeks motivated applicants for the full-time position of Town Accountant. Responsible for performing administrative and supervisory duties, as well as technical accounting, financial and computerized functions in maintaining and auditing the municipal accounting system. Administers all internal and external financial reporting requirements. Interprets and administers federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies relevant to municipal financial management. Prepares 1099’s and a number of financial reports, including providing general and enterprise fund expense and revenue reports, town meeting articles and special revenue funds. Prepares annual free cash for certification, schedule A, and tax recap. Coordinates the audit process annually with Town Auditors.

Qualifications: bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field with a minimum of three years of experience in public finance. Must pass a CORI check. Must have a thorough knowledge of UMAS, GAAP and GASB regulations. Experience with VADAR is preferred.

Salary range: $81,904 to $91,944, for qualified candidates.
