The MWRA is seeking a Toolmaker who provides support for assigned area by setting up and operating a variety of computer-controlled and mechanically controlled machine tools to produce precision metal parts, instruments, and tools.

The work includes operating lathes, drill presses, planers, milling machines and similar equipment in the manufacture, repair and alteration of metal objects and precision machine parts; designing special tools, jigs and fixtures required in the maintenance of machinery and equipment; performing miscellaneous machine tool operations, such as boring, threading, grinding and key seating; maintaining machine tools and equipment in first class condition; performing welding, brazing, soldering, heat-treating, shrink fitting, oxy-acetylene outing, metal spraying and other machine shop operations.

The position requires a high school education or equivalent; and knowledge of the tools, materials, methods, equipment and standard practices used in metal working trades as acquired through three to six years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education or experience. A valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operators License.

Salary: $1,070.58 to $1,525.81 Weekly
