The town of Watertown seeks a Systems Administrator for the Information Technology Department who will be responsible to manage in-house computer software systems, servers, storage devices, workstations, and network connections to ensure high availability and security of the supported business applications. The Systems Administrator also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with town goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. This position will be responsible to manage virtual and physical servers, VMWare, VEEAM Backups, Active Directory, Office365, server and workstation deployment, updates, and support. Ensures the security of the server infrastructure by implementing industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.  Develops and maintains documentation about current environment setup, standard operating procedures, and best practices.  Manages end user permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices. Builds and deploys new servers on the network as needed; familiarity with NAS and SAN storage management. Deploys, maintains, and supports work stations, servers, printers, scanners and other devices. Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent and five years of systems administration experience preferred. Demonstrated understanding of PC architecture and Microsoft Windows OS, Active Directory, and 365, tablet and mobile architecture. Must be highly organized and energetic and an excellent communicator in verbal and written form. Salary Range: D.Q.E plus excellent benefits.
