The city is seeking a Stormwater Engineer to lead its Stormwater Compliance Program while supporting water, wastewater, and infrastructure initiatives. This role oversees MS4 permit compliance, stormwater policy development, and daily program operations, including inspections, enforcement, and public outreach.
Responsibilities include managing stormwater regulations, reviewing engineering plans, coordinating capital improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with environmental standards. The Stormwater Engineer also provides technical expertise in system design, hydraulic modeling, and infrastructure planning, while working closely with city departments, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
The ideal candidate will manage multiple projects, prepare reports and budgets, and support long-term infrastructure and sustainability goals.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering and five-plus years of relevant experience required. Experience in stormwater compliance, project management, and municipal systems preferred. EIT or PE licensure in Massachusetts is a plus.
