The town of Sterling Public Works Department has reopened its search for a FT Water Operations Foreman with considerable supervisory experience, operational knowledge of municipal water treatment, distribution & storage systems. Reporting to the DPW Superintendent, responsibilities include oversight of water projects, supervision/direction of Water Division employees; overseeing water treatment, monitoring/testing & reporting; budget preparation; operation of water treatment & related public works equipment. The Water Operations Foreman is a responsible, committed, reliable manager & team leader who directs the construction, installation, repair & maintenance of various projects and participates in snow removal operations with the staff of the Highway Division. Qualifications: Associate’s degree in civil, sanitary engineering or related field; five years supervisory experience in a public utility; 10 years of experience in a public utility, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requirements: Massachusetts Treatment Operator’s License (“T1”); Massachusetts Water System Distribution License (“D2”); Massachusetts Commercial Vehicle Operator’s License (“CDL”); Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer’s License is preferred, but not required. Career range is $27 to $33.51/hr with hiring range of $27-$31/hr DOQ.
