The town of Grafton is accepting applications for the full-time position of Staff Planner in the Planning Department. Under the general supervision of the Town Planner, this position will be responsible for providing technical support to the Planning Board and Planning Department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: preparing draft decisions, tracking deadlines, monitoring the Town’s Subsidized Housing Inventory in coordination with the Zoning Board of Appeals Assistant, and developing content for the Planning Website. This position also assists in developing various plans and reports and organizes public outreach and education.

The successful applicant must be able to work independently to ensure that time-sensitive projects are completed. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, GIS applications, as well as a working knowledge of Massachusetts land use laws is required. Must have the ability to plan and prioritize work while multitasking. Strong customer service skills are crucial in this position.

Qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning, or a related field, and three to five years of related experience, or a combination of experience and education. This is a 35-hour-per-week position with a salary of $30.60-$33.77 per hour DOQ.
