The town of Bedford is looking for an energetic and team-oriented individual interested in a municipal management career to join its progressive management team as the Special Assistant to the Town Manager. This full-time position (40 hrs/week) reports to the Town Manager. Duties include, but are not limited to: acting as the public information officer to increase outreach; managing constituent services and community relations; coordinating with intergovernmental agencies such as Hanscom Air Force Base, Massport, the Bedford VA, Middlesex Community College and other community stakeholders; working with citizen committees and coordinating the committee volunteer process; planning special events; procurement; and performing special projects, as assigned by the Town Manager.

Minimum requirements include a master’s in public administration, political science, business administration or related field and at least five years of exempt-level experience in local government management or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong preference will be given for previous relevant municipal experience. The expected salary range for this position is $74,085 to $98,168, depending on experience and education.
