The town of Bedford is searching for a full-time, dedicated Licensed Social Worker to provide support and services to older adults through the Council on Aging. Reporting to the COA Director, primary duties include, but are not limited to: behavioral health support, case management, needs assessments, referrals, home and office visits and connecting seniors and families with community resources. The Social Worker promotes and leads related programs, outreach efforts (including the town’s website, articles and social media posts), coordinates and arranges services, manages tax work-off participants and assists with grant work as part of the COA team. This position attends local outreach events and coordinates with the town’s social service team in supervising social service interns and as a SNAP partner with the department of Transitional Assistance.
Candidates must be licensed in Massachusetts (LCSW or higher), with at least two years relevant full-time, supervised post-MSW experience. Previous education and/or experience in a municipal setting a plus.
The position is 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with attendance at weekend events and occasional evening program required.
