The City of Fitchburg is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the position of Senior Wastewater Treatment Operator. Under the supervision of the Plant Superintendent, the Senior Wastewater Operator is responsible for shift operation and control of a complex and advanced wastewater treatment facility. General responsibilities are to direct and assist a number of operational assistants in the operation of advanced wastewater treatment processes to obtain targeted operating results and to maintain treatment plant compliance. The ideal candidate will have a current and valid Massachusetts Grade VI Wastewater Operator License, as well as five years’ experience in operations of a similarly sized municipal wastewater treatment plant. The salary range for this union position is $32.01/hr – $43.27/hr.
