The city of Cambridge is seeking a highly motivated person to assume a role in the review and management of municipal improvement projects and on municipal projects with an emphasis on energy efficiency. This person will evaluate and make recommendations on specific systems related to the distribution of lighting and power loads in existing buildings or associated public properties. Responsible for recording and documenting changes or additions to existing systems including, but not limited to, municipal fire alarm circuits, fiber networks, and conduits/wires in and above the public way. Minimum of five years’ relevant experience, with progressively increasing levels of responsibility. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Ability to manage and administer construction contracts. Knowledge of Massachusetts state electrical code, municipal signal systems, fiber cable networks, local network cabling and fire and security building systems. Knowledge of engineering principles related to the design and construction of electrical systems. Knowledge of CAD, SCADA systems and other automated system management systems and geographic information system software. $111,254-$123,121 annually with competitive benefits.
