Employment Opportunity: Senior Center Director

Northborough (15,700 pop.) seeks an experienced, dynamic professional to serve as its next Senior Center Director. The ideal candidate will possess excellent administration, management, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and must be capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with older adults and their families, other municipal departments, state agencies, and the community at large.
Northborough is primarily a mixed residential/commercial community and is ideally located at the intersection of Interstate 495 and 290 and is just 10 miles from Worcester and 30 miles from Boston. There are over 3,700 residents aged 60 or older in the community. The Northborough Senior Center is an active and well-attended 14,000-square-foot facility, which operates its own in-house restaurant, outreach program, multiple exercise and education classes, support groups, a transportation program in partnership with the WRTA, and more. The Senior Center FY2025 budget is just over $310,000. The Director is appointed by the Town Administrator and oversees two full-time staff, six part-time staff, and dozens of volunteers.
Bachelor’s degree in social work, gerontology, psychology, human services, or related field, (master’s degree preferred), and five to seven years of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid Massachusetts Driver’s license is required; CPR, First Aid, and Safe SERV certifications preferred. Job description can be found HERE
Salary range for this full-time, benefit eligible position is $87,214 to $113,383; starting salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
