Position: Executive Assistant to the Town Administrator & Select Board

Salary Range: $30.06-$39.68; hiring range up to $34.54

The town of Southborough is seeking a highly organized and professional Executive Assistant to the Town Administrator and Select Board. The successful candidate will possess the utmost level of confidentiality, tact, superior technology and organizational skills as well as a zeal for public service.

Responsibilities include managing department communications and social media footprint; preparing Select Board agendas and meeting materials as well as all follow-up correspondence; ensuring compliance with the Open Meeting Law, Public Records Law and procurement regulations; processing all licenses under Select Board authority; editing the annual town report; coordinating volunteer appointments; assisting with budget development and town meeting warrant preparation; and maintaining the Select Board’s website content. The Executive Assistant must possess superior customer service acumen, independent judgment while handling sensitive information and commendable communication skills. Project management comprehension is ideal.

Qualifications: A skill set garnered from experience in a municipal setting or government affairs is essential. High school degree and five years’ work experience or a bachelor’s degree and an equivalent amount of professional experience is required. MCPPO certification a plus.

Required: Advanced understanding of MS Office programs, Canva and website maintenance; expertise in government-related software applications is ideal.
