The town of Falmouth is seeking a part-time (19hrs. /wk.) Recycling / Solid Waste Coordinator to provide public education and outreach relating to town wide residential recycling and data collection, aiding in coordination or recycling initiatives. This position is responsible for responding to public inquiries related to trash waste and recycling as directed, conducts comparison studies, research and analysis; collects recycling data and prepares spreadsheets and reports; Submits basic recycling grant applications. Maintains monthly residential recycling tonnages and prepares spreadsheets. Conducts site visits to monitor the progression of residential recycling programs. Researches and promotes residential recycling sustainable practices; Distributes and compiles public outreach and education materials for residents and schools. Assists Town Committees and Department Heads with advanced recycling and solid waste programs. Provides technical assistance regarding sustainability practices to improve town-wide recycling and remains abreast of current statewide recycling policy initiatives. High school graduation with a strong computer background; Three to five years practical experience in related field and office work; proficient in office management software and data collection; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven ability to effectively produce and communicate educational materials. Working knowledge/experience with recycling initiatives. Associate’s degree in generally related field preferred but not required. Wage is up to $20/hour.
