The city of Watertown seeks a highly qualified recreation professional who will be responsible for supervisory, administrative, and financial duties in the Recreation Department. The successful candidate will assist the Recreation Director and the Assistant Recreation Director with the operation of the office and maintaining the city’s recreation programs and other related work. Under the general direction of the Recreation Director, the Recreation Supervisor is responsible to supervise and manage staff and program participants in a variety of work environments; organize, conduct and instruct diversified recreation activities in athletic and passive recreational activities for all residents. Maintain supplies, equipment, and materials of the programs, develop schedules, plan tournaments and special events and prepare public relations materials. Work schedule is primarily Tuesdays – Fridays 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm, Saturday’s 8:00 am to 4:30 pm but may be flexible when there are schedule changes due to seasons of the year. Required Minimum Qualifications: Four-year degree in park and recreation administration, leisure service management, public administration or related field with at least three years of experience in the development and administration of community recreation and parks programs. Demonstrated computer proficiency. Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, be able to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED Certification upon hire and pass a CORI and SORI background check.
