The town of Bedford is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Recreation Director.  Responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing, and promoting a comprehensive community recreation program for children and adults of the town. The department runs a summer youth program, a summer swimming and beach program, and summer concert series.  The Recreation Department works closely with the schools, DPW, and Health and Human Services departments.

Applicants must possess bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation management or related field , along with five to 10 years of experience in recreation, or equivalent combination of education/experience.  Successful candidate will have knowledge of recreation policies and procedures, supervisory/personnel management experience, and excellent communication and customer service skills.  Candidates must also have experience in business management, including budgeting and working with vendors.  Municipal experience is a plus.  Salary range is $77,675-$90,000 depending upon experience.
