Superintendent of Public Works
Town of Great Barrington, Massachusetts
Salary: $123,240–$134,784 | Full-Time | Exempt
The Town of Great Barrington seeks an experienced, forward-thinking leader to serve as its next Superintendent of Public Works and help shape the future of the community’s infrastructure and essential municipal services.
As a member of the Town’s senior management team, the Superintendent will lead Highway, Buildings & Grounds, Cemeteries, and Wastewater operations, while working closely with the Town Manager, Selectboard, Parks & Recreation Commission, and regional, state, and federal partners to advance the Town’s strategic priorities.
This is an opportunity to lead a significant portfolio of infrastructure initiatives involving roads and bridges, wastewater systems, municipal facilities, parks, environmental resilience, and long-range capital planning. The position will also play an important role in the potential municipal acquisition and future improvements of Housatonic Water Works.
Great Barrington seeks a leader who combines strategic vision with operational discipline; someone who can manage multiple complex projects, maintain strong oversight of budgets, contracts, procurement, and change orders, and protect the public investment.
