The town of Harvard is accepting applications for the position of Public Works Director.

The Public Works Director is responsible for the daily operations of the Department of Public Works along with the long-term management and care of assets and resources under Public Works Director control. The Public Works Director supervises approximately one dozen full-time employees and makes frequent contact with all town departments, local officials, relevant state officials and bureaus, and vendors.

Preferred candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in management and at least seven years of public works experience in a progressively responsible capacity, including three years of management responsibility; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Candidates should have a thorough knowledge of public works functions and ideally possess and maintain a CDL Class B license. Necessary Massachusetts certifications to operate a municipal drinking water system is a plus.

Annual salary: $135,000 – $160,000. Starting pay is based on qualifications and experience. The town offers a generous benefits package.
