Job Title: Public Safety Administrative Assistant – Police and Fire departments
Reports To: Police Chief & Fire Chief
Work Schedule: 34 hours/week | Mon–Thurs: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Fri: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Salary: Approx. $57,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications

The Administrative Assistant supports both the Police and Fire departments in a dynamic, highly confidential role. This position provides administrative assistance to the Police Chief, Fire Chief, and other department staff, managing sensitive matters related to personnel, benefits, and operations. The role also includes oversight of office activities, supervision of clerical staff, and coordination of key administrative processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate’s degree in office administration or related field (bachelor’s preferred)
• Three to five years of administrative experience, preferably in public safety or municipal government
• Valid Class D Driver’s License
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
