The town of Stoneham a residential suburban community located at the intersection of I93 and I95 less than 10 miles to the city of Boston is currently is seeking to fill the part-time position of Public Health Nurse with the Board of Health. This 19 hours part time position works under the administrative direction of the Health Agent and policy direction of the Board of Health.
The Public Health Nurse performs varied professional nursing duties to reduce the incidents of disease and promote health issues and wellbeing of residents of the town of Stoneham. The Public Health Nurse provides services mandated by MDPH including but not limited to communicable disease recording, surveillance and investigations, immunization administration, flu clinics, vaccine management and distribution. Services to the community, health care referral, community agency referral, health teaching and education, home visits for home bound senior citizens, camp immunizations. Recommended qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in science in nursing minimum of three to five years of related work experience in community health nursing or hospital is preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must possess a current unrestricted registered nursing license in MA, a valid class D driver’s license and CPR certification. Working knowledge of MAVEN and MIIS, familiarity with Microsoft and the internet to support office operations. Knowledge of HIPPA regulations and ability to remain confidential.
