The town of Holliston is accepting applications for the part-time position of Principal Clerk in the Assessor’s office. This position is 19.5 hour per week and provides clerical and customer service support to the Principal Assessor and Deputy Assessor. The office is responsible for the appraisal of real estate and personal properties, processing auto excise tax abatements, providing abutters’ lists, and processing property tax exemption and abatement requests.

The Principal Clerk performs skilled routine administrative and customer service to the residents and businesses of Holliston. Duties include maintaining written and computerized records; updating databases to maintain accurate assessment records; responding to inquiries from taxpayers, real estate brokers, appraisers and other members of the public in person, in writing, by telephone, and by e-mail; interacting with other town departments to provide and obtain required information; and any other similar or related duties as required, or as situations dictate.

This position is a part-time, non-benefit eligible position at Grade 400, and the salary hiring range starts at $24.25 – $26.56 per hour. Salary commensurate with experience. The full salary range is $24.25 – $31.14.

Requirements: Requires high school diploma; an associate degree in a related field preferred and over two years of progressively responsible administrative experience, or a combination of education and experience. Experience in real estate and/or municipal setting a plus. Ability to pass town of Holliston background process and become CORI certified. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
