The city of Watertown is seeking a Principal Department Assistant – Senior Center to perform a wide array of administrative tasks in support of the Senior Services Department/Council on Aging. This position handles the day to day routine tasks of the department including processing department payroll, budget management assistance, processing invoices, administering and tracking senior parking passes, managing office supplies and needs, generating memos, notices, posters and flyers, recording COA meeting notes, and greeting patrons/participants as they arrive.
Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree plus four to six years of professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience working with seniors is a plus. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite. Excellent customer service experience and ability to work in a busy environment with frequent
interruptions.
TERMS/HOURS: This is a union position with a work week of 37.5 hours (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Tuesdays: 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.).
SALARY & BENEFITS: The Step 1 salary for this position is $61,682. Hiring above Step 1 is dependent on qualifications and experience.
