The Watertown Police department seeks motivated, community-oriented MPTC-certified Police Officers or qualified recruits of the highest integrity to join its ranks.

Officers will provide essential services to the community including patrol and incident response, traffic
enforcement, criminal investigations, and a wide array of community relations activities. Over the course of their
career, officers may be able to pursue specialty assignments including investigations (Detective Division),
motorcycle patrol, bicycle patrol, service as a school resource officer, work with information technology and crime analysis and assignment to the many NEMLEC units that our agency supports.

HOURS: The Police department works in three eight-hour shifts (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; 4 p.m. to midnight;
midnight to 8 a.m.).

SALARY: Base salary range for officers is $71,693 with a top step of $87,044. Candidates may qualify for higher starting pay and/or additional compensation/stipends based on their experience, education, approved certifications or unique skillset. The city offers an excellent benefit package, including 80% health insurance premium coverage through the Group Insurance Commission (GIC).
