The town of Eliot, Maine is mostly a residential seaside community, with commercial on Route 236 connecting Kittery to the Berwicks. Eliot has a population of about 7,500, located off I-95 about 10 minutes north of Portsmouth, NH and 45 minutes south of Portland, ME. Patrolling 32 miles of roadway, consisting of state, town and privately owned roads.

The town of Eliot is looking for Police Officers to join our ranks! We are a very progressive law enforcement agency that promotes a Community Policing philosophy.

Our dedicated and elite patrolman:

  • Enforces all federal, state, and municipal laws.
  • Upholds the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics.
  • Patrols the town of Eliot for the general purpose of crime prevention and law enforcement.

To join us in protecting and serving the citizens and visitors of the town of Eliot, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Hold a HS diploma or equivalent.
  • Hold a valid Maine driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass the ALERT and physical agility test
  • Background checks.

This position is 40 hours per week, with a full benefits package, with a 20-year retirement. Pay commensurate with experience and starts at $32.62/hr. Stipends and shift differentials are available, if you are certified BLUE PIN Police Officer we have the ability to start at a much higher hourly wage depending on experience.
