The town of Provincetown is seeking an experienced and community-focused leader to serve as its next Police Chief. Provincetown is a vibrant coastal community at the tip of Cape Cod, known for its Portuguese heritage and rich history as a fishing village, thriving arts scene, and dynamic seasonal population that swells from approximately 3,800 year-round residents to over 60,000 in the summer. As one of the nation’s most prominent LGBTQ+ communities, and one of the world’s most celebrated queer destinations, Provincetown requires a Police Chief who is not only a skilled law enforcement professional but also an inclusive, responsive leader attuned to the unique needs of this diverse and progressive community. The ideal candidate will embrace Provincetown’s deep commitment to equity, public safety, and community-driven solutions while fostering trust, collaboration, and innovative policing strategies that reflect the town’s distinct character.
Provincetown offers an exceptional benefits package with a base salary range of $150,000 to $170,000, commensurate with qualifications.
