Planner II performs and manages politically sensitive professional planning projects, research, and analysis. Incumbent is an integral or lead on high profile, and sometimes controversial planning initiatives, programs, and projects. Work will include community outreach, master plan updates, transportation planning, sustainability planning, environmental project review and project management for large complex land use permits, while ensuring consistency with the city’s strategic goals and visions. This position will work directly with planning department staff, other municipal staff, interdepartmental teams, and community volunteers in the implementation of the work program and be readily identifiable as a leader.
