The town of Petersham Selectboard is seeking a part time Office Assistant 16-24 hours per week. This position will perform various clerical and administrative support duties, including assistance to Town Boards and Committees, to the Selectboard and to the public.
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently, and an aptitude for working with the public. Attendance at Selectboard Thursday evening meetings is expected to be part of these responsibilities. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and computer skills are essential, comfort with Excel spreadsheets, website updating and office technology highly desirable.
Minimum educational requirement: all candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, relevant college degree preferred. Municipal or public sector administrative experience, and/ or three to five years of experience in an executive office strongly preferred.
All employment offers are conditional upon passing a reference and Criminal Offender Record Information check. Must be able to obtain bond to handle financial transactions.
Salary Rate per hour $18-24 per hour depending on qualifications.
