Walpole Public Schools is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator to join our Business Office. will manage the daily flow of our payroll operations, ensuring our dedicated staff is supported through accurate financial management and a commitment to professional excellence.
Responsibilities
-Process bi-weekly payroll for over 900 employees using MUNIS, including managing new hires, terminations, and pay adjustments.
-Maintain accurate payroll records and salary tables while auditing time and attendance data via SmartFind.
-Ensure strict adherence to all federal, state, and contractual requirements, including monthly MTRS reporting and year-end W-2 coordination.
-Oversee specialized payroll and benefit deductions while supporting payroll-related aspects of the district budget and grant-funded positions.
-Acts as a helpful resource for the district, answering payroll related questions with clarity and care to ensure every interaction is both professional and supportive.
-Partner closely with Human Resources and other departments to ensure seamless administrative operations across the district.
Qualifications
-Associate degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
-Minimum of two to three years’ payroll experience, preferably in a municipal or school setting.
-MUNIS (Tyler Technologies) experience strongly preferred.
-Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Compensation
Salary range: $65,000 – $90,000, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, and participation in a Massachusetts retirement system.
