The town of Acton is seeking a mission-driven Outreach Specialist to lead community engagement efforts that expand access to energy efficiency programs and improve town-wide communication. Ideal role for someone passionate about sustainability, equity, and effective public engagement.
The primary focus of this position is to serve as Acton’s Energy Advocate under the Mass Save Community First Partnership. The Specialist will build connections with residents and businesses to increase participation in energy-saving programs that support a clean future. Through active engagement and tailored outreach, the Specialist will support the town in accessing relevant services and incentives.
The secondary focus of this position is to enhance the town’s overall communication with the public. The Specialist will support the development of inclusive and accessible communication strategies to promote local government programs, events, and updates. This includes the coordination of public messaging across digital platforms, printed materials, and community events.
Requirements: One to three years’ experience in community outreach, public engagement, and public communication. Experience working with diverse populations. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and proficiency with data entry and tracking. Familiarity with energy efficiency or sustainable initiatives. Graphic design or content creation skills are a plus (e.g. Canva, Adobe).
Pay: $66,542 -$74,894/year
