Job Description

The town of Danvers welcomes applicants for the Operator II position. This position operates specialized equipment where primary responsibility is to operate assigned equipment while performing construction and maintenance tasks throughout highways, water and sewer systems, buildings, grounds and other Town properties.

A successful applicant will have a high school or trade school diploma and two to three years of experience in water and sewer related areas to include the operation of Hoisting License. Must possess a commercial driver’s license including Air Brakes and Tanker Endorsements; and possess a minimum of a 2B Hoisting License.

The town is willing to consider an entry level position through its Pathway Program

The Pathway Program allows the town to hire an entry-level position (Laborer) with the ability to train and educate that employee and progress them to the Operator I position and into the Operator II position with the Water and Sewer division. A Pathway hire will have 24 months to meet the minimum qualifications for the Operator I position, then another 18 months to meet the minimum qualifications for the Operator II position.

Salary range: Laborer $24.8911- $28.9535/hour, Operator I $25.6072- $29.2117/hour, Operator II $28.1668 -$32.3936/hour.
