The town of Ware is seeking applicants for the position of Operations Manager for the Water department. This position reports directly to the town Manager. Duties focus on the town’s water distribution and collection system ensuring that performance and the quality of water meet federal and state regulations; supervises the operations and maintenance functions in accordance with regulatory requirements. Similar or related duties as required by the Town Manager.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or related field; seven years of progressively responsible experience in public works management and administration, of which at least three years are in a management position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; MA Drinking Water Facilities Operator’s License D2, T1. Must have and maintain a valid Massachusetts driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include Massachusetts certification as a Public Purchasing Officer; familiar with MUNIS financial software; and MADEP and EPA water reporting requirements.
