The city of Cambridge seeks a Director for the North Cambridge Senior Center to plan, develop, implement, and oversee recreational, social, health, and educational programs for a diverse senior population, both in-person and virtual. Collaborate with Human Services, Recreation, and Youth staff to coordinate senior programming at additional city-supported sites. Supervise the part-time Center Assistant and oversee, train, and recruit Senior Aides, volunteers, and interns. Manage daily operations of the Center.

Work with the Council on Aging Executive Director to oversee the Center’s annual budget and expand resources through in-kind donations and occasional grant writing. Coordinate the hot lunch program with Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services. Refer seniors in need of social services to the COA Client Services Director for appropriate follow-up or case management. Maintain accurate participant data and documentation using MySeniorCenter. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all programs and trips.

  • Represent the North Cambridge Senior Center at meetings and community events, as requested by the COA Executive Director. Participate on internal leadership and planning teams, to enhance city wide services.

Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field, or equivalent education/experience. Minimum one year of direct service with elders. Minimum two years of staff supervision experience.

Rate: $64,441-$76,424 annually
